Typically, cleanings are scheduled the day after your trash and recycling is emptied. After registering your email, an email will be sent to confirm your scheduled cleaning date.

We ask that you leave your carts out at your regular spot for trash pickup between 7 am and 7 pm . Once they are cleaned, we will place them back in the same spot.

As a random act of kindness, we’ll occasionally clean trash and recycling carts in a particular area free of charge. If you wish to continue with our service, simply sign up online or give us a call at 213-391-9300. You will not be charged for this first complimentary trash or recycling cart cleaning. If you do not wish to use our service, please accept the free cleaning on us, and remember CartWash.com the next time your cart needs cleaning.

In addition to your bins smelling and looking clean, we will place a small tag that is easily removed to confirm that the container has been cleaned.

Just using a hose and bleach to clean your trash and recycle bins is not sufficient to remove or kill the bacteria and diseases that can breed in your carts including:

  • Tuberculosis
  • Strep
  • Staph
  • E-Coli
  • Salmonella
  • Listeria

Carts are cleaned, disinfected, sanitized, and deodorized. The traditional method of cart cleaning also results in chemical and sewage residue in homeowners driveways and lawns.

No, you can register and schedule the service online and receive an email notification confirming your cleaning date.

Due to the requirement that the carts be empty for cleaning, we recommend scheduling the cart cleaning the day after your normal trash and recycling service day. For more information, read our full Terms and Conditions.

Yes, however, if there is just a small amount of material, we will bag it and put it back into the cart after cleaning. For larger amounts, we will have to reschedule for a later date and apply a trip fee.

A: We will clean any residential outside trash or recycling polycart that is between 35, 65 or 95 gallons in size.
